HORROR OF REDBULL DRINKS

What is Red Bull?

First sold in 1987 in Austria, Red Bull is a carbonated beverage containing caffeine, as well as other energy boosting compounds, including several B Vitamins and Tauine.

If you haven’t heard, Red Bull – the fizzy, energy drink – is the mixed of the moment among the fashionable, hard-partying crowd. A 250 ml serving contain 27g of sugar and almost as much caffeine as a cup of coffee. Consequently, drinkers who mix it with their booze want to party longer, reporting reduced sleepiness and increased sensation of pleasure.

However, a Brazillian study has found that alcohol and Red bull is a potentially dangerous combination.

According to research commissioned by the Federal University of Sao Paulo, mixing the two significantly reduces the perception of headaches, weakness and a dry mouth, meaning drinkers have less sense of being impaired by drunkenness.

Anne Jenkins from Alcohol Concern says the study highlights the danger of excess drinking in the relation to personal safety.

“Any drink that heightens a person’s perception of being in control, when they’re not, could increase the risk of harm”.

Few Side effects of Red Bull

Increase Blood Pressure and Heart Rate.

May Increase type 2 Diabetes Risk

May damage your Teeth

May negatively affect kidney health

May increase high-risk behavior

May lead to caffeine overdose and possible toxicity

Pill FREE Healing Guide

At a time when mindless popping of pills - that could lead to serious health complications - has become the solution to all our medical problems, naturalists suggest to turn to our age-old home remedies. Apart from curing a minor headache to strengthening gums, these home remedies are simple, easy-to-follow and wont drill a hole in your pocket.

SUNLIGHT TO REDUCE PAIN

The closed-room air-conditioned work space relives us from the excruciating heat, but also deprives us of sunlight - a natural and potent source of Vitamin D3, a nutrient that is essential for the growth of healthy shock-absorbing joint cartilage and for preventing painful inflammation inside muscles and joints.
The lack of Vit D3 cause bone pain, especially in the  pelvic, back and thigh region. But Doctors say, getting 15 minutes of daily sun exposure (without sunscreen) can cut your risk of developing joint pain by 67%. Exposing yourself to the sun can also slow the progression of arthritis, and erase muscle aches within three months.

However, if you're rarely outdoors, cod lover oil supplements and consuming multivitamin tablets that include 800 to 1000 units of vitamin D3 can also prove to be beneficial. say medical experts.

ALOEVERA  JUICE FOR HEADACHE

Apart from being a great home plant, aloe vera has lots of health benefits. Aloe vera juice is rich in Salicylic acid, acemannan and glucomanan, all powerful pain-killing anti-inflammatories, which also help relax sore, tight muscles.

Studies show, drinking one to two ounces of the plant juice daily can actually reduce your risk of tension headaches, which is the most common urban complaint. If you find the aloevera taste bitter, mixing it with orange juice will mask the test.
Combining your usual headache remedy with one ounce of this anti-inflammatory juice could boost your pain relief by as much as 50%.
Dabbing its juice on the skin speeds up the  healing of cuts and minor burns too.

SESAME OIL ON POTATOES

Blood pressure and diabetes are cited as epidemic. If you wish to tame the pressure surge, eat a baked potato everyday (skin on ), and drizzle it with one ounce of  sesame oil.
According to British research team, this filling treat could cut your blood pressure down at least 32 points. This happen because each potato is packed with 1500 milligrams of pressure lowering potassium. And sesame oil is rich in sesamin, which is a rare plant compound that relaxes blood vessel wall, preventing blood pressure spikes.

FIST FIGHT  FOOD CRAVINGS

Surveys have shown 90% of people who are attempting to lose weight go off track by instant temptations and food cravings. However, a recent study said, briefly tightening any group of muscles - by clenching the fist, jaw, or scrunching the shoulders - can raise an individual's willpower for a good two minutes. This helps you  fight off the sudden diet-interrupting urges. Clenching muscles signals your brain to ramp up your willpower even more than normal, because you are facing a tough task. so, the next time, you are temped to wipe off a plate of french fries simply clench your fist.

RED WINE TO HEAL GUMS

It is learnt, a daily swish of wine could cut your risk of cavities, plaque build-up and gum disease by 45%. Red wine is rich in polyphenols -- anti-oxidants that shut down gum inflammation, and stop bacteria from producing the glue-like substance that they need to order to cling to your teeth and gums when you are chewing and swallowing food.
Red wine's natural acid kills 99% if the bacteria that cause sore throats. Researchers state that drinking red wine can also cut your risk of heart disease by 41% or more, as the bacteria that cause gum infections produce inflammatory proteins, tiny molecules that spread through your bloodstream, damaging the arteries that nourish your heart.

Sip one to two ounces of Red wine daily (swish a little of the wine around in your mouth when you do).

Right Pill, Wrong FOOD

We're used to being told never to combine alcohol with prescription pills, but swigging them down with glass of say, grapefruit juice, can be even more dangerous.

Doctors were already aware that the citrus fruit can interact with some drugs, but a new Canadian study shows the potential for problems is greater than previously thought. And its not just grapefruit.

Everything from too much spinach to a glass of milk can affect how medications work, and even turn them harmful.

lets start.............

STRONG COFFEE
Clashes with
Bronchodilators ( including drugs used to treat wheeziness and asthma)

Bronchodilators used alongside lots of caffeine - for example strong coffee -- can increase the chance of side-effects, such as feeling jittery and nervous or having a rapid heart beat. The drugs taken in pill or liquid from rather than inhalers and you're more likely to be affected if you don't normally drink much coffee and then suddenly consume a lot.

Remember : Energy drinks and cola are other rich sources of caffeine.

DAIRY PRODUCTS
Clashes with
Tetracycline and quinolone antibiotics.

Some mineral, particularly calcium in milk, can interfere with how these types of antibiotics are absorbed. Avoid milk, cheese, yogurt or ice-cream one hour before or two hours after you take these antibiotics.

Remember : Avoid calcium fortified orange juice and soya milk, too

BANANA
Clashes With
Blood Pressure - lowering ACE inhibitor drugs.

Too many potassium rich foods, like Bananas, can be harmful if you are taking ACE inhibitors, because the drugs already cause levels of potassium in the blood to be artificially raised. Though it's vital for health, too much potassium can cause an irregular heart beats and heart palpitation.
Banana

Remember: Many food high in potassium, you'll need to watch your consumption of orange and salt substitutes.

LEAFY GREENS
Clashes With
Anticoagulants

Green veggies are one of the best sources of vitamin K, but this vitamin can encourage blood clotting, working against drugs that thin your blood.
That's not an excuse to skip your greens. Doctors will match the does of drug to the quantity of vitamin K you consume. It's best to eat moderate amounts of greens consistently.

Remember : Liver also contains high amounts of vitamin K

GRAPEFRUIT
Clashes With
Up to 85 different drugs , some blood pressure drugs, psychiatric drugs, and Viagra

Grapefruit contains active ingredients called furanocoumarins, which inhibit an enzyme in the intestines from doing its job of detoxifying drugs. It means some medications can rise to dangerously high levels in the body with life-threatening consequences.

REMEMBER : Avoid limes, pomelos and Seville oranges, too

All About Mouth Ulcer

Mouth ulcers are painful and sometimes embarrassing. Adults between the age of 25 to 35 suffer from this condition. The pain is caused by the nerves just below the surface of the lining of the mouth becoming exposed. They often seem to start by themselves as a small bubble or blister, which then become an open and ulcerated pit or crevasse. Alternatively, they can be started by trauma to the lining of the mouth.

 CAUSE
Mouth ulcers can also be triggered by a number of factors, such as  emotional pain or stress, fatigue, physical injury to the mouth( often by biting the cheek or from dental work), and dietary deficiencies (lack of Vitamin B12, iron and folic acid).
Severe ulcers cause sufferers to actively avoid eating, drinking, talking. Speech is painful, resulting in a loss of clarity. There can be high fever too.

Trauma or Damage Related Mouth Ulcers :
Damage to the mouth lining is very common, especially from brushing the teeth too vigorously or from orthodontic braces or biting the inside of the theeth.

Stress -Related Mouth Ulcers or Aphthous Ulcers :
Most common in teenagers, these will heal within a couple of weeks. Theses can be prevented by resolving stress-related problems or using stress-busting relaxation strategies.

Disease-Related Mouth ulcers :
Mouth ulcers can have symptoms of herpes infection, sex-related infection (canker sores), inflammatory bowel disease, leukoplakia, gingivostomatitis, oral cancer, herpes simplex, oral thrush, and immune disorders. If they are symptom of a disease, they are usually accompanied by others symptoms in the body, but not always.

TREATMENT
Some treatments require the source or cause of the mouth ulcer.
  • Creams, wafers, pastilles.
  • Cooling Mouth rinses or cold water.
  • Cool chamomile Tea. Swill it in your mouth then swallow.
  • If they do not heal within two or three weeks, it could be a sign of disease that needs medical attention and treatment.
PREVENTION :
  •  Mouth ulcer are vulnerable to infection by bacteria in the mouth, so keep your mouth clean and fresh by gargling with an antibacterial mouthwash or salt water.
  • Avoid toothpaste and mouthwashes with a powerful anti-microbial action. Also, avoid toothpaste with harsh detergents such as sodium lauryl sulfate.
  • Brushing and Flossing twice daily will reduce the chances of an infection. Brush gently so you do not further aggravate the mouth ulcers.
